The gist

Tool Intelligence is the short name for a simple idea: the data your shop already generates — every scrap note, every return, every reorder — is enough to answer the three questions shops keep paying consultants to guess at.

  • Which brand actually costs you the least per part on this alloy?
  • Which tool in service is about to fail?
  • Which machine on the floor is chewing tools faster than the others?

Niyamis TMS is the platform that reads your transactions and answers those three questions continuously. No new sensors. No new hardware. Nothing to install in the spindle. If your shop keeps a tool crib, writes scrap notes, and does reorders, you already have the inputs.

What the video shows

  1. Brand Scorecard. We open a scorecard for a 10mm end-mill and compare three brands side by side: cost-per-part, average tool life, scrap rate. The winner changes when the alloy changes. The dashboard makes that obvious.
  2. Life Predictor. We drop into a tool that's been in service for four weeks. TMS shows the remaining-life estimate and the confidence score, based on SCRAP cadence and usage patterns over every job the tool's been on.
  3. Scrap Anomaly. We point at a machine that's chewing end-mills 30% faster than its peers. TMS flags the pattern. Your team investigates. Signal, not blame.

Why this matters for your shop

For fifteen years of beside-the-crib consulting, the answer to "which brand wins" has been somebody's opinion. Sometimes the right somebody. Often not. Tool Intelligence moves that question from opinion to math, using only the data you already keep.

That's the whole idea. The rest of the Academy goes deeper into each piece.
